More on Milo

I didn't mean to cut the other post short, but I'm still new at this. Milo has been failing the last few months, but it is just so hard to say goodbye. Traveling in the motor home just won't be the same without her. In the past three years, we visited 45 states and she was with us. She will be missed.

A Sad Day

Today we had to say good bye to Milo--our pet and our traveling companion. We have tried to decided exactly old she was and think she was between 18 and 19 years old.

Declutter Mom style

Since Susan has started up her blog, I though I would try it. Since she started the decluttering, I though I should do the same. I spent all my spare this week scanning slides into the computer with the idea of putting them on disc and thus saving a lot of space. But John said "we have to keep the slides as backup." But anyway, I scanned almost 600 slides and have them sorted into folders but they now need to be better sorted by date, etc. All of the slides are BC (before children), some BJ (before John) and of course some BP (before I entered John's life). There are some really cute ones of Debbie and Roberta and Lynn. It has been a good trip down memory lane. So I've got one project well on the way.

New blog

I'm thinking of starting a new blog. As I am trying to organize the house and get rid of things, I wonder if either of our children want some of the things. So, soon, I will start a blog called "Up for Grabs." Then I can feel comfortable donating things that family doesn't want. How does that sound? Let me know your thoughts on the subject and I will get started on it. Sort of like Susan's clutter blog. Mom

Home again

Well, we got home late Saturday afternoon with mixed emotions. We would have liked to stay away a while longer, but had obligations at home. John had a doctor's appointment and I had work to do for the beginning of the sorority year. We are talking about taking off for a couple of weeks in late September or early October. John didn't get to do his gold mining in Georgia or diamond hunting in Alabama. We'll see. Mom

More from on the road

We are currently in the Hershey Pa area staying at a Thousand Trails campground that we have visited before. There is so much to see and do here that we extended our stay and will leave here on Friday. Tuesday we went to the Roots Farmers Market which is fantastic. You can find almost anything that you want and the produce, meats, and bakery items are great. We spend a couple of hours there and then came back to the motorhome. We forgot the Magellan when we left in the morning, so we traveled a lot of back roads finding our way back--should have left bread crumbs. Then we went back to Wal-mart because John had some prescriptions that need refills. Today we went to York and Hanover and visited the Harley-Davidson Factory and took the tour (see previous post) and then toured the Snyder's of Hanover factory (pretzels and potato chips). We were going to tour a chocolate factory, but they were closing so we found an Elks Lodge and spent a nice couple of hours visiting and had dinner and a couple of drinks. We will be here until Friday and then who knows? I do not always have the opportunity to get on line, but I'm not going to go back and try to catch up from this trip. Now I'm getting the hang of the blog, I'll try to do more postings. Mom
